5 Minute Draped Vest

It literally took me 5 minutes to make this vest. I have had the leopard print scarf for about a year. I bought  two of them, at Target, for the grand total of $5.76, (they were $2.88 a piece)  How can you pass up a deal like that?
I have had many ideas for them but never made a true commitment to change them permanently until now.. I did a no sew sweater vest about 2 weeks ago  Click HERE to view, which gave me the idea for this.
Super Easy, I promise..
and it is great for those ~not feeling too skinny days..

Tutorial
Things You Need
1. Scarf (the dimensions of this one are around 35 inches x  35inches)a larger scarf would work well too. (48 inches by 48inches)
2. Scissors
3. Dinner plate
4. Chalk or a  Washable Pin

 Fold your scarf in half
Find the middle
and then cut a circle closer to the top
I used a  dinner plate,  traced it with chalk and then cut out the circle.
That is it.
I told you super easy and quick..

Project Re-Style #37 Sweater Scarf turned into Poncho

It is that time again, Re-Style Monday.
This week I have a pretty Special Re-Style to share with all of you.   I received this Beautiful sweater piece from Judy.   She has a  wonderful blog called Just Another Day on Earth. She was so sweet and offered me this Beautiful Sweater Scarf( that she made) and wanted me to Re-Style it.. and because I so  love a challenge,  I happily said yes.  I LOVE the way it turned out. I think this is going to be a wonderful addition to my Fall/Winter wardrobe..
Judy,  I cannot thank you enough for trusting me with one of your pieces.
So here is the Re-Style,
I hope you like it..

This is where I got my inspiration from.
Charlotte Russe, Window

Tutorial
Things You Need
1. A scarf or piece of sweater ( this one measured 122 x 22)
it doesn't have to be that long,  But It needs to be  longer than wider.
2.Sewing machine
3. Scissors
4. Large safety pins

1. Fold you scarf in half.(Right sides together)
2.Measure how wide you want the neck.( mine measured 17 inches (but that can very on what you want.)
3.Sew the two pieces together starting at the 17 inch mark and sew  20 inches,  then skip 3 inches,( for your hand) then sew another 6 inches. leaving the last couple of inches open.
I went back over the stitching twice, just to reinforce my stitches
4. NOW  Try your piece  on  and if it all seems to fit fine, turn right side out.
5. Put your piece back on Then mark with chalk where you  want the side seam to be.  Make it a little on the lose side because you want it as an outer piece. I pinned mine with safety pins then tried on, to get the right fit, before sewing.. ( this took me about 3 tries.)
Once you have  it exactly how you want it sew the side seam  where you made your marks.
and that is it..
My Beautiful niece A is down visiting and she was so awesome to let me take pictures of her.
Thanks A,
I love you!!

I even talked H into posing.
Love you too H!!
Thank you so much  Judy!!

My Memories Software Giveaway

Lately, I have been asked to review some products and then endorse them on my blog.  Some of them I have to say no to, because if  the product is not something I would use or think is fantastic I will not endorse it, EVEN if they offer it to me for free. When My Memories contacted me to try their software and then give away a free copy of My Memories Suite on my site, I did like I do with all the others, I researched it, read reviews, and looked it over  with a fine tooth comb.    I must say that this is some of the coolest digital scrapbook software I have ever tried. The amazing thing about the My Memories Suite is that you download the software and use it to create scrapbook layouts, photo books, cards, videos, calendars, scrapbooks with music,  you name it!   There are tons of options. And it's a great alternative to needing Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. The scrapbook software was easy to install and use. It comes with pre-made templates, paper, embellishments, text options, all at the click of a button. And if you want more, there are links to more kits on their site, accessed directly from the software itself! When I wanted to buy a set of really fun paper designs, I just clicked the link, purchased a VERY reasonably priced kit, and it installed right into the software! An extra bonus with My Memories, is that you can also download any digital files and use them with Photoshop, or the like. It's all so flexible, and super easy to use. I really liked that I could create layouts in My Memories Suite, save it, and then finish it up with some of my own elements from my personal Photoshop stash.

I am not the most computer savvy person.  Although I can figure most things out, what  I really  like is that this software is quick and easy.  My time to me is very valuable, I don't have a lot of time to spend figuring things out. I am sure all of you feel that very same way. There are also some great Videos about My Memories on You Tube that can help you with any problem. I've seen lots of digital scrap-booking software, but this really is a simple and all-inclusive way to go. Especially if you are new to the digital world, or are feeling lost. This brings it all to you in one cohesive product:
Want to know a little more about the software click on the video below.

Project Re-Style#36 No Sew Vest

I was searching for a way to use this scrap piece of T-Shirt I had left over from another project and I came up with this cute no sew vest.
Welcome Everyone, to My Project Re-Style day.
Can you believe, that after today, I will only have 15 more Re-Style projects left to do, for my year of Re-Styling..?
It went by so very quick and...  I am thinking about keeping my Re-Style Monday as a permanent fixture on my blog.  I guess we will have to  see when my 52 Re-Styles are completed.

Do any of  you have shirts or pieces of shirts you just can't throw away. Well I do, lot's of them..
I did a quick search on the internet and found this cute no sew vest on Cut out and Keep.
I did do mine slightly different.
I think, with all the layering that is in style right now, this would make a great piece,
and it cost me nothing.. Well.... it cost me about 3 dollars for the original shirt.
I just love quick, no sew  projects, that anyone can do..
